"If this is your price range, you will be doing yourself a huge favor!"
I review products mostly based on their price. Comparing against products of much higer or lower prices makes little sense and is not overly fair to the product. That being said, I paid 100.00 for mine. In this price range this product is absolutely awesome. The sound quality is much, much better than I would have expected, not to mention the features. By itself, it sounds excellent. I run mine through a ART TPS II preamp, DBX166XL comp/gate/limiter, TC Electronic M-OneXL effects processor, TC M300 effects processor, BBE 362 sonic maximizer, TC Electronic Quintet vocal harmonizer, and a Aphex 204 aural exciter. These are all budget peices, but the sound is absolutely incredible when everything is set right. This is a small, affordable home recording outfit, but this microphone used correctly has a really pro sound.
The features on this product are almost unexpected at this price and work wonderfully. A really value added deal.
Pro looking, especially with the shock mount. The blue light not only looks cool, but lets you know if your preamp is on. I have had mine for quite sometime, and admittedly smoke too many cigars in my recording room, but this product has not lost a beat one bit of it's sound quality. Seems to be a very solid product.
No idea as yet. At this price, I would just buy another one. Actually, I am going to anyway for back ground singers if I choose to use them. If not, I'll have a back up for when my cigars get the best of this product.
Nine only because I have only compared it to about 7 or 8 other microphones in this price range. There certainly may be better for the price, but compared to the ones I looked at, this was the best.
The Wow Factor:
Like I said, probably will be adding at least one more.
If stolen, I would have one on my next paycheck.
