"Very nice design, decent sound, good price."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
The sound is reasonably true. I set up a Y-cable and A-B switch so I could punch back and forth between straight cable and wireless, and there was very little difference. A very slight loss of bass response with the wireless, that's all - hardly noticable and easy to compensate for. I'm wondering if other reviewers of this product actually had the CR77 (rackmount) receiver instead of the AP1 (pedal) receiver. I tried two different CR77s and sent them both back because the sound was awful (see my separate review of that product.) I now have two Samson set-ups, both with AP1 receivers, and I'm pleased with them.
    Feature:
The design is great. The transmitter is wonderful - no body packs, so on stage guitar changes are a breeze. The transmitters are so small they stay in my guitars even when the guitars are in their cases. The receiver is very simple, small, and just works. One AP1 sits in my pedal board, and another is velcro-ed to my stage amp. The transmit range is very good - a strong signal even in the largest venues.
    Quality:
    So far so good.
    Manufacturer Support:
Same Day Music support was great through multiple exchanges and returns (CR77 for AP1). Samson support was useless.
    Value:
More than I expected to get in this size and price range.

"Ignore the 'no tone' reviews...good product."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
I've owned a rack-mount Samson for 16 years and just needed something so I wouldn't have to run cables from the rack to my pedals and then back to the board. This seemed like the perfect product but after reading some of the reviews I hesitated. BUT, knowing that with Same Day I could send it back AND knowing that I had no problems whatsoever with my rack-mount I decided to go for it. I really doubted that 16 years later Samson got worse at what they did. I extensively sat down and went back and forth from this product and rack-mount and saw NO issues with it at all. Granted I've only used it for a couple gigs, but I wanted to get a review up before someone else got turned off. It didn't change my tone at all, but if you have no tone to begin with then....
    Feature:
My only complaint so far is that I have to buy an AC adapter for the 'pedal' part of the unit. I'm currently using a 9-volt in that AND the AAA in the receiver, and the AAA only lasted two shows. I can see that I'll be going through more AAA's already and add the 9-volt on top of that and it'll add up over time. My rack-mount Samson came with a plug and the 9-volt in the battery pack would last at least a handful of shows.
    Ease of Use:
You plug it in and turn it on. It took about 2 minutes to figure out that the one knob should be turned all the way to the right.
    Quality:
So far so good, but being a 'pedal' I'm worried about the long-term durability especially after seeing how beat up my other pedals are though I do realize I won't be stepping on this one.
    Manufacturer Support:
    n/a
    Value:
It;s about $75 over where it's real price point should be. It was worth it to me because I was sick of running wires back and forth.
    The Wow Factor:
It's small, compact and it works. PLUS, it's nice not having that extra battery pack hanging off my belt.

    "Freedom to Roam"

    Sound:
My bandmates are impressed with the sound. I use no sound effects, I use a genz benz 600 amp, and my main bass is a fender arodine jazz. Im very happy with the sound quality and range (distance)of movement.
    Feature:
There is no power supply so im runnin on batteries for now. Its a bare bones system and thats ok, I wanted to be free from the cord. and so far it has work great!
    Ease of Use:
There is only the 15db switch on the transmitter to cut the signal. so for me adjust the tone of my bass just with the bass controls is fine for me. the system alows for nice note articulation there is no harshness, hiss or popping like with the samson live stage 77 which i took back.
    Quality:
Im conceerned about the transmitter sticking out from my bass, its plastic and there is a review which complained about the 15db switch braking off. I will make a short extention cable for the transmitter and attach the transmitter to my guitar strap.
    Manufacturer Support:
    No
    Value:
I recived a good deal on the unit and I am happy with the sound qulity so far.
    The Wow Factor:
Its a small unit and not something id let my friends play with. It a practical addition that gives me freedom to roam.
    Overall:
I would replace it with something else.
