"This is the real deal"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Feature:
The vintage bridge and tuners are outstanding. It has the '52 vintage 3 brass saddles that are fully adjustible. The tuners are vintage style and hold a tune very well. The strings are 9's, possibly D'addarios - the ends are colored. They're quite good. I've always like 10's, but 9's on this are great, especially for bending.
Quality:
Perfect in everyway. This is so much better than the MIM teles that generaly have the fret wire sticking out the edge of the neck. The frets on this came fully dress and no sharp edges to cut yourself. The neck and headstock actually have a "flame" appearance. The grain shows through the vintage blonde finish. It's a very well made instrument
Value:
Read the reviews out there on this - just google it and you'll find everyone is blown away by this guitar. I researched and played some MIM's teles locally. I also found a local retailer who had one in stock. It was the floor model. I played it and compared it to the MIM's in the store. Hands down, the CV is BETTER. I wanted a fresh new one that wasn't shredded on by the young kids, so I ordered it here at SDM. I usually look for blems or used to get the best value. At 350, this was the best value and totally new. I missed getting it before Fender raised the price from 299. Still at 350, it's a bargain.
Desirability:
If you want to add a Tele to your collection, this is the one to get. There is no risk. This is my second guitar from SDM. A blem LP was my first. Both arrived safely and were exactly what I wanted. SDM has a 60 day return policy, but you won't need it. Everything described about this guitar is true.
Sound:
Fantastic. The bridge pickup is more twangy than MIM Tele's. The neck pickup adds the warmth. Together they make a full tele sound you expect.
Ease of Use:
Again, they hit a home run with this. The neck is c shaped and thin. Moving up and down the fret board is a breeze. Action was a tad high out of the box. But that was simple to adjust - just lowered the saddles with the allen wrench in the box
Support:
N/A
Overall:
If I didn't have so much GAS, I'd be happy with this guitar forever. Seriously, this one is a keeper. It's a perfect addition to my LP and DOT.
