"Classic Vibe Tele Custom: How do they do it?"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
This is simply a great little guitar. The pickups are a little bit stouter than standard Tele pickups, which actually is a good thing since the bridge pickup does not get the "ice pick" shrillness that vintage Tele pickups deliver, and the neck pickup is strong enough to be Strat like but a little smoother and rounder in tone. I love this guitar. It is beautiful to look at and inspiring to play. Regardless of price, these Squier Vintage series guitars are some of the best you can get and I know, I've had them all many times over.
Feature:
This is a Tele, so the feature set is simple and that is part of the charm.
Ease of Use:
Great neck, rounded fretboard edges, frets a just a tough sharp here and there but excellent work overall.
Quality:
I cannot find any real blemishes on this instrument anywhere.
Manufacturer Support:
I have not dealt with the Fender company personally as I usually just fix guitars and amps myself.
Value:
There is no product made that will blow this Tele away - I'm not joking. You will have to go up to the American Vintage Reissue line to get just maybe a slightly better fret job and hardware. I own a 1990 AVI Strat and I just bought a MIM Strat and this is my second Squire Vibe Tele. I also just returned an American Standard Strat which was nice and lifeless with throwaway pickups.
The Wow Factor:
Oh, man! I have always wanted a Tele Custom and this one has it all: tinted neck, beautiful sunburst with binding, and great pickups. It's also very light and just the guitar I grab first when I go into the music room.
Overall:
I'm keeping this guitar for the rest of my life.
