"A very nice thinline for the price"
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Sound:
Great classic telecaster tone.
Feature:
All the hardware seems first class. The Kluson style tuners are as good as the best I've encountered. One added benefit is the neck and bridge pickups are hum canceling when selected together. According to my bathroom scale, only 5.8 lbs.
Ease of Use:
It's a Telecaster.
Quality:
Compared to a top of the line American made instrument...the fret slots are too deep, the fret dressing on the high E side is a bit sharp feeling up the neck (I tried out one other at a local store and found it the same way), there is some subtle finish re-work on the f-hole and the high E side of the nut, and there is a pin head sized ding in the back of the neck near the nut. Compared to a $350 imported guitar...excellent, all the wood is quarter sawn, even the neck, and if the top and back are veneered, it is such a good job I can't see it (looks all solid to me).
Manufacturer Support:
Can't say I didn't seek any support.
Value:
Nice guitar. I am debating getting the frets dressed, or touching them up myself, but I doubt I will do it. I am humidifying the guitar and that did improve the fret feel quite a bit.
The Wow Factor:
Flatter fingerboard, bigger frets, truss rod can be adjusted at the headstock, stained natural mahogany, hum canceling when both pickups are selected; all improvements over a more authentic rendition of a '69 thinline.
Overall:
I wanted a good electric guitar that was not too heavy and not too valuable to enjoy (and bang around in a gig bag). Perfect!
