"Excellent set for any level of play."

    Feature:
This set comes with all the hardware you'll need, except when you buy your new cymbals, you'll want a crash, ride, and hi-hats, so you'll need one more cymbal stand for that other cymbal. This set only comes with one. It DOES include a hi-hat stand and crash stand, though. The throne is a piece of crap, unfortunately. Once you set it to your desired height, it starts to fall down and doesn't stay. Be sure to get another one. The kick pedal is real nice too, easy to control.

    Quality:
It's a Tama, of course the quality is good! All the drums and hardware are good, but like I said before the cymbals are garbage. I used them for a week and the edge literally bent 90 degrees to where if you got eye-level with the edge of the cymbal, it points towards the floor. So get some new cymbals definitely.

    Value:
This product is reasonably priced I think. It could be like Yamaha and charge you a bazillion dollars with a set taht doesn't even include everything, which I think is stupid. If it's part of the set, INCLUDE IT! And luckily Tama does just that.

    Desirability:
The finish is real nice. Mine is black and it has a nice shine to it. The chromed drum rims and snare shell give it a real appealing look.

    Sound:
The sound of the drums themselves is very good. I bass has got a nice, strong sound, eventhough it's a smaller sized bass drum. The tom toms sound real good with that tom sound you've been looking for. The sound also does depend on how you tune the heads. The snare has a real good sound too. The only downside to this set is that the cymbals couldn't suck any worse. But you a set of Sabians or Zildjians and you're in business.

    Support:
They were very quick in shipping, always helpful.

    Overall:
This set is very durable, and should last you quite a while. You will of course have to get new drum heads after a while, but just get new cymbals at the start and then you should be fine for months.

"Little money for Great Drum set."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
Drum seat was good ,Add, Maybe throw a pair of sticks in with kit. Cymbal's get rid of them they are cheese, I added five Cymbal's to kit Z- Cymbal's sounds great.

    Quality:
Hardware is strong from pedals to stands, of course I added new road tough stands for added Cymbal's.One thing to note the outside bass drum metal ring had something inside the ring maybe a weld piece or chrome chip if you spin the ring you can hear it inside. Once the head goes on and you tighten down I dont hear it.

    Value:
I think for the quality of Drum it was a very good price you cant not beat it.

    Desirability:
I have played drums for over twenty years I have been away from them for a few years I decided to buy this set to see if I still had the drive to play and yes I do. I ordered the Black kit which I had a custom art shop add the Jack Daniel's whisky label too. They look great.

    Sound:
Sound is Great after changing heads.......

    Support:
Support was good when I inquired. Would liked to have had an e-mail or two while I waited four weeks for my order rather than me calling to keep up to date.

    Overall:
My personality changes like the wind if I decide to keep playing I may upgrade in the next year or so. I might even add to the existing kit I have been know to have a thirty piece set back in the day. Time will only tell for me.

"Top value for downsized drum set."

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
Hardware (stands, holders) are very good quality.

    Quality:
Everything is relative: This kit offers exceptional value based on cost. Dounside were the Tom Rims - they had some manufacturing flaws which caused some visual imperfections and potential tuning problems.

    Value:
    Well worth the money.

    Desirability:
I was looking for a portable drum kit. With that in mind, the custom size bass drum(18x14) was the coolest thing I have ever seen. It will be a great small gig setup as well as add components to my current larger setup.

    Sound:
The Sound of the drum are impressive compared to the cost of the drums. They are a low volume set - great for small venues and practicing. The 18" Kick sounds good with a bit of internal muffling and gained more attack by replacing the felt beater with wood.

    Overall:
I'll have this kit for a long time. But it will require maintenance. I'm planning on sealing the interior shells for more weatherization and installing better hoops. This product does meet my musical goals. Live, studio and practice.

"Boom Boom Crash Crash...Tat Tat Tat getting back into the groove!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
I love the Tama system for mounting toms, The swivel ball rules!

    Quality:
Its Tama! If you complain about price from this site, you cant afford to play anyhow!

    Value:
$370.50, what else to I need to say, my local shops list them at $648.00

    Desirability:
For a new entry into the drum world like me, I have played but never owned and it has been 10 years, I love this set, especially after adding the tom muffling kit. I will upgrade in a year or two and let my son have these.

    Sound:
Really no difference from the big boys other than the Bass drum, but thats because you are sacrificing 4 inches in size. Use a pillow if you like the muffled bass, thats my style.

    Support:
Dont know, havent had any problems yet.

    Overall:
2 years. Price wise the only other drums comprable were Peavey. I like the color selection of Peavey better, but I bet the quality isnt the same.

"A great set, but not for everyone."

    Feature:
Well, there's everything you need to start right away... but most of the stuff is no good. The thing is that the drums themselves are worth some 400 bucks - all the other stuff is optional. Throne is junk - always sliding down after 30 seconds of sitting. Stands are ok, I guess. Anyway, if you happen to have the money, don't forget to buy some Roadpro booms and straights. The snare stand is a bit better, but is just for 13", so if you buy something in the future - don't count on that one. The pedal is responsive, but is really of no use, if you have something handy, like the Iron Cobra. The same situation is with the hi-hat stand.

    Quality:
Very good. The wood is good, hoops are ok, aluminium. Stands are well done, all the legs, claws, clamps and bolts are also ok. No complains here. Not just good - very good.

    Value:
Simply the best - great drums for a great price. Tough to beat. Pearl Forum or Rythm Traveler, Sonor Force 1003, Ludwig Accent and some Mapex's are good drums, but are more expensive, and are bigger sized, this one is light, compact and cheap - and very good quality.

    Desirability:
I already have it, that means I want it, right?

    Sound:
The sound varies - the bass drum is very good sounding to me (the pedal could be better, even the HP10 is better than this one), toms and the floor tom are quite hard to tune (since there are only 6 lugs)... the snare is also hard to tune, AND the snappy needs to be upgraded to something better. but when you do tune them, put some good heads on them, and set them ergonomically to your liking - the set shines. Don't be fooled by the size - there's some punch in this little beauty. I put Evans hydraulics on batter and Genera G2 on resonant side on all the toms, Genera HD Dry and Genera Res on the snare, and EQ3/Res on the bass, and now the sound is fat, wet, punchy and not very loud - just right for my room. Forget about cymbals - throw them away as soon as you get them out of the box.

    Support:
I have no info regarding TAMA, but I guess there's no problem since so many drummers play TAMA.

    Overall:
If you're beginning - buy it. If you're playing for some time - get it. If you're into it for like 10 years like me - think about. Do you need a cheap, compact kit or want to save for a Rockstar or Pearl Export (or even Session). I made my choice, and am very satisfied with the results.

    "Great set, SUCKY CYMBALS"

    Feature:
the drumheads on it are decent. The cymbal and high hat stands are good, but the cymbals are worth nothing more then frisbees

    Quality:
Drum heads are strong, the cymbals dent and snap

    Value:
This drumset is worth more than $400

    Sound:
This is a really good drumset, it sounds wonderfull. Only problem is the highhat and the cymbal are crap, they break within a month of play and dont sound good. i baught zilijan cymbals and high hats now it sounds like a professional drumset

    Ease of Use:

    "BEST RATED DRUMSET FROM TAMA!"

    Feature:
I think the most useful feature would be the bassdrum. However, if you do get a double-bass pedal, the way the b.d. id made, it is very, very, very easy to roll on! But, most of the features are the same as all the other TAMA drumsets, just different sized toms and bass.

    Quality:
This product is factory made so their is no perfect drumset. But the way they make TAMA drums is probably ranked 2nd out of 11 drum makers. If you take care of it it'll last you a long time. Just make sure you don't hurl the drums across the room when you get mad.

    Value:
Yes I think for a well quality made item like this is very reasonably priced.

    Desirability:
When you hit either their snare, bass, or toms, you don't want to stop playing since it just gives you such good fellings when you play it too. Usually when you play you can feel the vibration in your heart. It is also a very good anger relief system especially when your adrenaline kicks in. Then you feel basically pro since you can play fast.

    Sound:
This drumset is very good for beginners to use because its small and can be easilly stored. Also, the sound quality of the toms are good for begining drummers. I recently purchased a TAMA SWINGSTAR which is also nice sound quality. After you become a lot better playing with one foot and being able to double stroke with one foot, than you should go up to the next best thing, which would be a TAMA SWINGSTAR. If I were you, I would get the Stagestar.

    Overall:
I prefer this drumset very much. I was also very pleased and satisfied after purchasing this drumset. I hope after reading this, I hope I have convinced you to buy this spectacullar product

    Tama Stagestar SG518C Customer Review

    Sound:
it is not very adaptive to a certain players needs. you can only get so much tone quality out of some drums and brands of drums if they cam with better heads and the shells were about a 1/8 of an inch thicker it would give excellent sound, but it gives a good sound for beginners to start with.
