"With the Tascam DP01/FX/CD you get what you pay for and a lot more..."

Sound:

This portastudio has surpased my expectations. Simplicity is what I was looking for in a hard disc recorder so I could spend more time "playing" music and less time beeing an engineer. All functions are user friendly. Putting out cd's couldnt be easier. Write a song, edit song, burn song. That simple. Highly recomended for the songwriter.

Feature:

As stated before. Simple. No frills. No shuffling through never ending menues to edit. Made for the musician to play and record music. Not alot of un needed bells and whistles. Just the essentials.

Ease of Use:

As with all recording and musical products. Read and understand the manual before getting started. Once you do this, your on your way to hours of creativity.

Quality:

All controls are easy to access and seem to be made well. Would recomend a case if traveling with it.

Manufacturer Support:

Have not yet had to deal with support. Hopefully will never have to.

Value:

I got more than I expected for the price. Very happy.

The Wow Factor:

The layout is perfect. The only thing I would add is a backlit display.

Overall:

This recorder should meet all my songwriting/recording needs for quite some time. I have always used and trusted Tascam multitrack tape products for the last 20 yrs and I will continue to do so. Tascam has never let me down.
