"TOP NOTCH MIXER BUT YOU MUST UPGRADE SOFTWARE IF EQ SLOW"

    Feature:
everything you could ever want + PARAMETRIC EQ!!!! Untill you've used this mixer you have no idea how useful it is! Beat / Bass not fat enough but turning the bass knob makes it sound boomy and affects too many frequencies?? Easy - just twist the parametric knob to 20hz and crank up the bass knob SORTED! (if not quite right there are selectable q widths - affected frequency width ranges) I use this all the time and it works a treat. Just be careful when cutting eq, in a small twist you can cut far more of the sound than you wanted, that -40db means -40db, go easy!!

    Quality:
Top notch build quality, don't expect it to fall apart on me or need replacement parts for a long time yet which is good. Low noise fan to cool mixer (those digital internals and effects need a bit of cooling) but it is very quiet and can't be heard over even the quietest of music.

    Value:
The only mixer I'd consider a swap for would be the A&H Xone 92 but from what I've seen I prefer my mixer and the 92 doesn't have that useful Parametric eq It's also

"Studio mixer, not a performance mixer"

    Feature:
I know this thing has a lot of stuff that it can do. But I haven't figuired out how to do most of it. You can supposedly store 100 eq settings, but I don't know how. Also, I just figuired out how to sample, but I don't know how to edit the samples. There are two fundamental flaws with this mixer. 1. The EQ response time lags - when you turn any EQ, except for trim, it doesn't match the pace at which you turn it, it is actually slower. For example, if you want to turn up the bass immediately, it will take up to 1 second for that to happen, which is forever while mixing. 2. Certain effects take a while to "load" itself - Like when you switch the effect setting to echo, or change the affected channel while on echo, it takes a while, maybe 5-10 seconds for it to load, and if you try to do this before, absolutely no sound will come out of the mixer until the effect has loaded or whatever it does.

    Quality:
I purchased this mixer used, and when I got it, a couple of the faders were bent, but that hasn't matter a bit. They all still work good. Everything is top notch on this thing, except for the things discussed in features.

    Value:
The EQ response time and effects processor lag time are big things. Those are the only reasons what makes this mixer worse than the djm 600.

    Desirability:
Many very advanced features, but while making all those things, they forgot about the basics.

    Sound:
I'm not much of a audio wiz or whatever, but I could definentaly tell the difference between this and my boombox.

    Support:
I was fairly lazy in acquiring a manual since I bought it used, so tascam gets the bye score in this category.

    Overall:
I am thinking about replacing this mixer w/ a djm 600. This mixer is essentially a "studio" mixer. The features that it has are more suited for the studio mixer. But for live mixing, nothing can go wrong especially with the equimpment and you need flexibility, which at times this mixer is unable to deliver.
