Sound:

Out of the box this set is HORRIBLE! Xtalk everywhere on a massive scale. it'll take a couple days to truly dial this set in. when you do though... WOW! this set sounds absolutely Beautiful! This is my first set of E-Drums so it took me a while to understand all these adjustments and how they affect each other. even when you think your done, your not. after 3 days of owning this set i'm still tweaking out xtalk and sounds.

Feature:

it comes with basically everything you'll need to play. just a kick pedal, throne, sticks and TIME is all that you'll need.

Ease of Use:

it takes some serious time to get this set dialed in. I'm new to the E-Drum scene so it took me a little longer then most i'm sure. The manual made it a lot easier to understand the settings and adjustments. Once dialed in, it truly sounds beautiful and can be made to sound any way you want. techno, Latin or as a true acoustic set. exactly what i wanted and expected!

Quality:

I bought the Alesis DM10 Studio kit because i live in an APT. its really not quiet enough and it causes my neighbors to knock on their ceiling which is my floor. I plan on modding this set with the mesh heads and using neoprene foam under that rack legs and pedals to help absorb the vibration some. the kick drum is a little wobbly but not a deal breaker, plan on modding that also. what i hate about the kick drum is that it is pretty darn loud and causes a lot of vibration on the floor. outside of the noise level and the kick drum wobbling, its built to last! i've read complaints about the rack mounts being made of plastic. after owning this set and my 19 year career in the plastic industry, i can assure you that the only way these clamps will break is from massive misuse. they are made from an ABS fiberglass polypro and they are Thick!

Manufacturer Support:

i haven't had to call Alesis for any support so i really cant say anything about that. i did how ever have to call samedaymusic about a question i had with my order. They are pleasant and professional, answering a never ending stream of questions i had with a smile.

Value:

you simply cant buy a better E-set for the money! it comes with so much and has tremendous expansion and growth potential. I did months of reserch before buying an E-set, bouncing around with sets that cost more and A Lot more to much cheaper sets. You truly cant get a better set any where near this price range. Its built and sounds like the big name E-drums companys but at a much better price point!

The Wow Factor:

I find myself just standing back and taking in the full view of this beautiful set. walking around it just to see different angles of it lol... basically you'll walk around it starring at it as if it were a exotic sports car. most people would want a way to hide the wires, i like the way it looks with them exposed. it gives it a look of a serious instrument and not a toy.

Overall:

outside of the wobbly kick drum and ease of use (dialing trigger and xtalk) this set is a complete 10! i rated ease of use an 8 because out of the box this set was no where near ready to play. i rated quality a 9 because of the wobbly kick drum, all thats needed is a simple brace to stop this from happening. I would buy this set again if i lost it or if it was stolen. I would even pay more then i did because its worth it.
