"Not bad, just not my style."
This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.
Lots of decent quality effects that are adjustable. Power adjustment control is an excellent feature. Manual mode is also a nice feature, you don't have to rely on the presets if you don't want to.
Quality:
Seems well built, but not sure how it would hold up with rigorous use.
Value:
I thought I would enjoy a modeling amp more, turns out I just like my rock-solid tube amp and pedal board.
Desirability:
Pretty neat look, but looks don't generate great tone.
Sound:
This amp was quite a letdown for me. My brother owns a Vox AD120VTX, and it sounds very nice, so my expectations were very high. It sounds quite digital and the reason Vox included noise suppression becomes evident early. All-tube is the better option if you have the $$$ to spend.
Ease of Use:
Don't be intimidated, it's manual is very good and you get the hang of it rather quickly.
Support:
Never needed it.
Overall:
I was quite surprised when I first got this amp home, I admit I bought on-line based on other Vox products because none were in the stores yet. I don't much care for it, but that's just my opinion. Others have raved about this amp. My Peavey Valveking 50W 1x12 will kick this amps butt with tremendous ease. As stated before, I just find that I prefer tube amps and will not stray again. I think this amp would be OK for less experienced players in a home environment, but not the more experienced player who is gigging regularly. Also, on Same Day Music's website, they put the 100W amps specs with 50W picture. Be aware, only the 100W version has the effects loop, I found out after the fact.
