"Great buy for this Novice!"

Feature:
I reckon that the best thing that suited me re the features of the guitar was its set up - the action was at a nice height that suited me as a new player to the guitar in general and steel springs specifically. Action any higher than what it is would mean a novice would struggle from time to time as they dont have the strength in their fretting hand (fingers) yet to ensure there is no or minimal buzzing.

Quality:
The finish of the guitar is excellent. I personally dont like some of the detail you find around the sound holes on some guitars. This one offered a really simple 3 dimensional cube design that was nice to look at without being overstated or gaudy. The finish on the guitar is excellent also. the narrow neck ensures ease of playing and achieving challenging chords for the beginner.

Value:
Value - well, I couldn't really go past the product. Initially I picked it up and it felt right, secondly it sounded right and then I noticed the price. It must've been my lucky day as it would normally retail for AU$449 but I got it for AU$330. An absolute bargain. I test played many guitars (well as many left handed ones that I could find) and quite frankly, this guitar was the best sounding one I found. I would have paid up to AU$750 as left handed ones are hard to find. But I didn't have to - this one was excellent.

Desirability:
The colour appealed to me outright - it isn't as light or yellow as other solid spruce tops out there on the market. However, I have noticed a difference between the China built D10SL and the Indonesian built one - the Chinese built one is a darker, nicer looking grian timber than that made in Indonesia. I was lucky to get the last of the China built ones from the particular store - i hadn't seen another in Adelaide.

Sound:
I am a beginner guitar player and chose the Washburn D10SL to be the first guitar i would buy after starting on a 25 year old classical guitar with nylon strings re-strung to suit me (being a leftie). I picked up the D10SL and was initially impressed by the deep, rich tones of it - even with my limited repertoire!

Overall:
I reckon that this guitar will form the backbone of my guitar playing for many years to come even if i broaden my horizons as my playing abilities broaden and I get other guitars.
