"Good use for a public school music program?"

    Feature:
The drum game ROCKS! PLus having the chance to connect the DD-35 to a mixing board really ROCKS.

    Quality:
The plastic box seems pretty unsturdy--and I work for a high school music program where life expectancy and durability needs to be high.

    Value:
The two DD-35s that we own were donated, but I can't believe they cost $120 or more. Seems like the plastic box could be made a little better or more sturdy for that price. I do appreciate the AC Power Adapter being included, though.

    Desirability:
High rating only becuase it is usable in all of my instrumental groups, and can help drummers practice too!

    Sound:
It could use a little more variety--or the possibility to create own profile. The sounds that I would like to use at once are on different settings!

    Overall:
The only real concern I have is, once again, the durability and life span of the product. I teach my students to take care of their equipment, but life span is always an issue for public schools. I would really like to see a travel/storage case available, which would help the unit last longer.

"Let's set expectations, this is an inexpensive way to add sounds to your live/practice environment. But you have to understand"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Sound:
The sound quality from the built-in speaker is fine. For any kind of use within a group, you'd have to plug this into an amp.

    Ease of Use:
Works out of the box. Very simple to change the sound kits and assign to specific drum pads.

    Overall:
Know your needs before buying this. You can only emulate certain acoustic instruments. You play the pads with 2 hands, so it's fine for timbales (2 toms, 2 cowbells). But you can't really emulate a full drum set, beecause there's no foot pedals for hihat and bass kick. You can create basic electronica or beatbox grooves, but nothing complex. This can be a quiet (but entertaining) method for practicing snare, but a more high-end electronic drum would provide better response.

    "This thing needs Ritilin!!"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

    Feature:
I got the survival kit with it for the power adapter and it came with a DVD for the yamaha keyboards and a foot pedal, both of which were useless. The education programs were not what I thought. It does not teach basic repetative rythyms. Instead, it is ADDHD and needs to calm down. IT is not for a beginner!!! I am not sure an intermediate would use the education section.

    Quality:
seems okay, have not had it long and it probably won't be used for practice.

    Value:
really won't use it, oh well, it was a neat concept...

    Sound:
It has all kinds of sounds, but the left pad does not seem to be loud. The best way to hear it was plug it into a stereo amp. All the sounds were distracting to my eight year old son whom I bought it for. it is obviously not a real drum kit and such.
