"Quality and Great Sounds"
Feature:Kick pad can be a little noisy in comparison to one offering from the competition; but that's only a concern for quite practice like late at night. Sticks would have been a nice inclusion.
Quality:
This is another reason why I chose Yamaha - have never had a problem with any of their electronics. The structure of the unit seems like it will stand the test of time and it feels secure once you tighten the adjustments. Quality control: A+. I really like the feel of the pads, stable and have a good weight to them.
Value:
While its not inexpensive, compared to the alternatives, it is even a better deal. I won't bash other brands here but I tried another unit that cost more and had less kits, and in my opinion sounded nowhere near as clean as the Yam.
Desirability:
I believe it to be the leader in its price class.
Sound:
First, let me say that nothing will ever replace or beat the sound of acoustic drums, ever. The Yamaha drums have a great sound though and I am very impressed with the various kits that are included. I've tried other brands and was impressed by this one the most as the sounds, even the highs are great and you do not get the feeling that you're stepping down into the digital world with these.
Ease of Use:
Very simple to use, after just a few minutes with the manual, I was playing for the first time after removing from the box! Once its set, just turn on and play. Not much technical skill required for electronic drums as one would expect.
Support:
Never have needed it with years of their products, that's why I put 10 here.
Overall:
I'm sure I'll have fun and great sounds with this unit for a long time to come.

"Ben's Drums"
Feature:No different to acoustic, posibility they could brake. Not worth the money!!!!!!!!!!!!
Value:
They are too much, i bought them for $500 on the Yamaha site.
Desirability:
Iv'e got them, but I am trying to sell them, because I hate them!
Sound:
Rubbish
Support:
I have had to get them repaired 6 times in a year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall:
They are not very well made and Yamaha could easily improve, hopefully I have something to look forward to.

"If you are serious about drumming, this DTXPLORER will drive you to new heights - mine did in just 2 days - I'm serious!!! Get o"
Feature:Would have loved a MIDI in. Hence the ability to create some extra play-along tunes and save them in the module. Otherwise it's great. Stick response is superb. Subtle rolls are picked up - sensitivity is excellent.
Quality:
Yamaha quality - what else can be said - have owned many Yam keyboards and now this!!!
Value:
Outstanding value
Desirability:
If you mean "desire" then I must admit that I went to my dealer for a totally different brand and was prepared to buy - when he showed me the DTXPLORER I was "sold" instantly - had-to-have-it!!
Sound:
Limited drum sounds but those that exist are good - nice and clean
Support:
Excellent support - dealt with Yamaha many times in past years.
Overall:
I will only enhance this kit if I ever decide to sell out my accoustic kit and totally go "electronic". (Unlikely so I guess I will keep this unit for a long time.
