"Well built but a littlen too "fuzzy""

Quality:
The unit is very well constructed and well laid out.

Sound:
Being the owner of a Zoom PS-2 multitrack unit I hoped the G2.1u would have the same sound characteristics- it didn't. The PS-2 has some of the best sounds of any "modeler" I have ever used. The problem with the G2.1u is that distortion settings are either all or nothing. It really does not emulate real amp distortion very well at all. The distortion is mostly FUZZ. If you try to get that Stevie Ray sound all I can say is good luck. I'm not sure at this point if I'm going to keep the unit. One fairly strong effect it the pitch shifter. I had a Diditech RP300A which I sold because it was VERY noisy. What I missed after I sold it was the Whammy feature. That is also part of what drove me to try the G2.1u. With some tweaking the unit can deliver a pretty strong whammy sound. It excels over the Digitech in that there is no audible delay when in whammy mode. It is clean and tracks very quickly. The bypass mode is very clean as is the clean unaffected sound when the unit is engaged.

Ease of Use:
It is easy to get the hang of editing patches quickly.

"zoom zoom!"

Feature:
Just cool, scan the instructions plug in and go. I can't say enough, I prefer soapbar pickups, and this puts lots of bite with little effort. Perfect for someone who does not get off on programming, and loves to play. The options for live or recording output was a stellar idea, and this time, not a gimmic.

Quality:
It has not been long enough to honestly say much, but it's much like a good date with a dream.

Value:
For the money! I am sure some will disagree, but it won't be an open minded working, musician.

Desirability:
It's seems realy solid, though compact.

Sound:
Being a loyal Digitech user I was hesitant because of mixed emotions over a previous zoom purchase ( I went right back to my worn digitech ). I read reviews for almost a year, and was suprized to find so much possitive feedback. I am so pleased with this product that I'm doing this right now! It's not just hype!! OK, I have big feet so getting used to the foot switches was the only thing suspect. GREAT PRODUCT!!! goodby digitech...

Overall:
I am in love, after 30 years of playing, surly one of the best purchases I have made in my life.

"Zoom Finally Get It Right!"

Feature:
The inclusion of knobs makes this pedle much easier to use, especially for altering gain, tone etc. The wah peddle not only sounds better but is much more versatile than in past Zoom products. I think the menu for sounds is more efficient and easier to use.

Quality:
The quality of every effect on this pedal is of high standard. This pedal is also more solid than previous Zoom models, and with it's heavier weight, looks like it should be able to standnit's ground at gigs.

Value:
If you think about what is spent on seperate pedals and what they do, the fact that this pedal can now achieve fuller sounds, this multi-effects pedal unit stands head and shoulders above most, and above most single pedal units.

Desirability:
Small, compact and a far more experimental approach to shape than any other multi-effects pedals on the market!

Sound:
No interference or buzzing or out.... Got some mint sounds, the delay in particular. The wah is much improved from past pedals, even the weird distortions etc could be altered to use in some way to make a nice sound. Whatever you play from punk, Jazz, Blues, metal and indie especially, then there are nice sounds on this for most genres.

Overall:
I expect I should be satisfied with this product for a while. If a more advanced product of the Zoom G2 series were to be brought out, then I would certainly try it out given how good this product was for it's sound quality, ease of use and versatility of effects.
