"excellent non-tube bass distortion that cuts"

This reviewer purchased this item from Same Day Music.

Feature:
a whole range of distortion styles, and with the bass/treble boost/cut feature, it's easy to get your own sound. preamp voicings are a nice touch, and so is the push in knobs. i wish boss had those, oh well. very well rounded in what it does, many distortion and O/D possibilities.

Quality:
solid metal, built like a tank. knobs are plastic, but the click into the body so they're safe. very reliable, the only issue i've had is with the switch, sometimes i have to step on it twice to turn it on or off. it's rare, but it happens. just have to make sure the little LED has gone on or off. had it a year now tho, and no problems, and it's been kicked around plenty. not so great battery life, but an adapter takes care of that.

Value:
awesome value, IMHO a much better value than the boss equivalent for bass, and cheaper too. sounds great, tonaly versatile, and solid build.

Desirability:
very appealing, nothing amazing on looks but the sounds is what counts, and it's quite sexy in that aspect.

Sound:
this thing sounds amazing. got a great overdrive that really cuts and a darn good distortion too. the attack voicings are ok, but i never really use them. the best part is, it doesn't take away from the nice heavy bottom of your bass sound at all, it's wonderful. i use it primarily on the O/D setting, and it cuts great. the only think is, it can be a bit noisy at times, esp. if your pups aren't noise cancelling it can really get bad when on and the gain maxed; but any distortion pedal will do that when you crank up the gain. when off, it's nice in that it hardly sucks any tone, not enough to be noticeable. the only thing is, as great as the distortion sounds, it's not gonna be that warm tube sound at all, so if that's what you need you should probably just get a sansamp or something similar. but, if you want a great bass distortion that really cuts, get this pedal. for what it's worth, a lot of guitarists are always envious of this pedal's sound.

Ease of Use:
very easy to use, very easy to find the right sound for you. took me about 5 minutes to get it perfect.

Support:
no idea, so i'll give an 8 just because.

Overall:
i bought this after reading reccomendations online, and if i could do it all over again i would. excellent buy, excellent value, amazing sound, very versatile and extremely useful. you won't regret it.
