Overview
The Vox AC15C1 Custom 15-watt combo amplifier puts authentic vintage tone in your hands without breaking the bank! Based on the more-than-legendary Vox AC15 amplifier that was introduced in 1958, this sweet combo is ready to produce the clear, chiming tones that have seduced guitarists for more than a half century. And when you're ready to get crunchy, the AC15C1 will break up in a glorious way without becoming deafeningly loud.
Two Killer Channels: Normal and Top-Boost
The versatility of the Vox AC15C1 Custom combo amp lies in its two separate input channels: Normal and Top-Boost. The Normal channel immediately delivers the warm, classic sound that you recognize from countless famous recordings from the 1960s and beyond. When you're done recreating the guitar sounds heard on Rubber Soul, plug into the Top Boost section and get a distinctive tone that benefits from the highly musical Treble and Bass controls. Each of these two channels is equipped with its own Volume control as well.
Taking your tonal crafting power even further, you'll find Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. Tone Cut works by modulating the signal passing through the power stage yielding a darker, richer tone. Then, you'll find yet another level of tone control playing with the balance between the Master Volume control and the individual Volume knobs on each channel.
One Killer Celestion G12M Greenback Speaker
A Vox amplifier wouldn't be complete without its distinctively designed preamp with 3 x 12AX7 tubes, and the famous 12-inch Celestion G12M Greenback speaker. No less essential to this tone is the authentic spring reverb, giving you everything from a shallow roomy verb to a far bigger and more expansive sound a la The Ventures or Dick Dale. The final element in the Vox AC15C1's unique tonal character is its famous Tremolo, with adjustable Rate and Depth. Both the Reverb and the Tremolo can also be controlled with the optional VOX VFS2 footswitch (not included), allowing you to turn the Reverb and Tremolo effects on and off as you play.
Goes Way Beyond 15 Watts
The Vox AC15C1 Custom comes with a switchable 8/16 ohm output jack - extremely useful for when you want to connect to an external speaker cabinet, and mute the internal speaker. A second speaker jack allows you to run an additional 16 ohm cabinet along with the internal speaker for a fuller, more spatialized sound.
