Gibraltar SCDC hi-hat drop clutch allows you to disengage and drop the top cymbal by hitting the clutch with a drumstick. To reengage the clutch step on the pedal and the clutch fastens itself to the original position. The hi-hat drop clutch functions similarly to a snare drum throwoff.
